SENTOSA

The most accessible of Singapore's resort islands, Sentosa charms visitors with its picturesque sandy beaches and clear waters. Located just south of the main Singapore city centre, Sentosa is extremely popular with both locals and tourists alike.
What to see in Sentosa
Fort Siloso, on Sentosa's westernmost tip, is a fascinating reminder of the island's military heritage. Singapore's only preserved coastal fort stands as an important window to Singapore's colonial past and a poignant reminder of the war years. Life-sized replicas, interactive exhibits and even authentic aromas are lovingly recreated. Visitors can browse through more than 245 photographs, documents and film clips on display. Afterwards, head out into the sunshine and examine actual 17th century guns and cannons, or explore the old tunnels.
What to do in Sentosa
Aside from relaxing on Sentosa's beautiful beaches, the island has plenty of exciting attractions to delight visitors. Theme parks are all the rage, so be sure to take in VolcanoLand and Cinemania, while nature lovers can explore Underwater World, Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom. For the more adventurous, Sentosa Luge and Flying Trapeze await for some exhilarating outdoor fun! After tiring yourself, head up to the Carlsberg Sky Tower for some fantastic views.
Travelling to and around Sentosa
Sentosa can be reached by cable car or ferry from Singapore's World Trade Centre, and also by car or bus from the Singapore city centre. It's also possible to access the island from Malaysia via the Tuas or Woodlands Causeways, although you'll need to clear immigration and customs in the process. Once on Sentosa it is simple for those without their own car to get around by bus, the Beach Train or taxi.
